ELMS - Sir Chris Hoy drafted in for the Race of Champions

Following Jorge Lorenzo

Sir Chris Hoy, Britain’s greatest ever Olympian, is a living legend in his home country. With six gold medals to his name, the Scotsman had nothing left to prove on two wheels, and so switched to four – with great success!

Sir Chris, and his teammate Charlie Robertson, clinched the ELMS LM P3 title at Le Castellet in France with one round still to be raced. And he duly toasted his feat without mishap, unlike Jorge Lorenzo. Spain’s MotoGP World Champion suffered second-degree burns to his leg while celebrating his own title, and his injuries have forced him out of this weekend’s Race of Champions.

Sir Chris, who took part in the Test Day at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, will therefore be lining up alongside nine-times Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen and Nico Hülkenberg, one of this year’s winning Porsche trio.
