In 2014, Sir Chris Hoy participated in the British GT in a Nissan GT-R Nismo with promising results near the end of the season, showing that he learns each time he gets in the car. The former track cyclist will enter a new stage in 2015 by entering the LM P3 class, powered exclusively by Nissan, in the European Le Mans Series. He will share a Ginetta-Nissan with his 17-year-old fellow countryman, Charlie Robertson.
Additionally, he will take his first steps in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the Test Day on May 31st which will allow him to get to know the layout and acclimate for an eventual participation in La Sarthe in 2016, his goal: "The season has been fantastic; way beyond my expectations. I’m not sure what comes next,” Hoy concluded. “It may be more GT racing and it may be LM P2. If I can do it with anyone though, it’s Nissan."
It is not expected that the Brit - unlike Nissan, returning to the LM P1 class to attempt the overall win against Audi, Porsche and Toyota - will take the start of the 24 Hours on June 13th (tickets now available).
