ELMS - the youthful face of Murphy Prototypes

At the 4 Hours of Imola this weekend, Murphy Prototypes will be represented by three young drivers. Budding talents who are capable of great things.

Garry Findlay, Patrick McClughan and Sean Doyle are probably not familiar names. Yet you would do well to remember them, for they are set to become the stars of tomorrow. The three Irishmen form the Murphy Prototypes driver line-up for the second round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at Imola, Italy, next weekend.

The crew are sure to want to follow in the footsteps of Brendon Hartley (Porsche LM P1 works driver) or Pipo Derani (winner of the Rolex 24 at Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring this year) who also learned the ropes with Murphy.

This is not a first in ELMS for Garry Findlay who drove in the LM P3 class in the last round of the 2015 season at Estoril, Portugal. The 26-year-old started out in Formula Ford and V de V ten years ago, after six years in karting.

Patrick McClughan (20) has a dazzling record in the Radical Sprint Championship: he can boast 12 wins in 21 races. Recruited for Daytona this year, Imola gives him the opportunity to show his potential at the wheel of a prototype.

As for Sean Doyle, he drove the Oreca 03R for Murphy Prototypes at Silverstone earlier in the season. At 22, he has already been appointed a Generation Next ambassador by Nissan. In 2015 he accompanied the Murphy Prototypes team to Le Mans and helped give out goodies to fans. It was his first time at the 24-Hour endurance race, an experience he relayed on his blog.
