The fourth round of the 2011 American Le Mans Series will be at Mosport from July 21 to 24
The summer marathon of the ALMS continues at a rate of one race every two weeks until the big finale of Petit Le Mans, also the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup 2011. This time, the competitors of the ALMS return north from Connecticut to Ontario, on a circuit which hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Canada in the mid 70s.
After claiming their first win of the season at Lime Rock, Dyson Racing has established itself as the leader and undisputed favourite in prototypes, but Team CytoSport will not want to be outdone, a task made more difficult with Dyson Racing now running a second car. In GT, BMW continues its domination against Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche. The previous round at Lime Rock was also the scene of a first victory of the Robertson Racing Ford GT (eleventh overall) in the Michelin Green X Challenge, which rewards successful car the best balance between performance and consumption. In the wake of the podium acquired LM GTE Am in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the American team intends to build on this momentum. Andrew H Smith (Team Manager): “At least we’re now in a position to pick up the pieces should anything happen, and there’s no reason to suspect that won’t be the case this weekend. In fact, it’s encouraging that Mosport’s longer, faster characteristics should suit the Ford better than Lime Rock’s.” Last year the race was won by the Porsche RS Spyder driven by Romain Dumas, who also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010, and Klaus Graf (Team CytoSport).
