Le Mans Classic attracted 109,000 spectators in July, proof that old vehicles bring joy to spectators, something that the historic motorcycle GP will doubtless confirm this weekend.

With the International Classic Grand Prix (ICGP) born in 1999, the former champion Eric Saul will recreate the atmosphere of the Continental Circus with ex-works 250cc and 350cc machines built before December 1984.

Among the competitors in this event are some distinguished figures such as the Scot Ian Simpson, three times winner of the Tourist Trophy, and the current leader in 350 cc, Guy Bertin, who is the only rider to have won all three major motorcycle events on the Bugatti circuit: Grand Prix de France, the Bol d'Or (when it was still running at Le Mans) and the Le Mans 24 Hours.

With these competitors, it is not surprising to see the old machines achieve comparable times to 600cc modern Promosport! For the ACO Festival, 42 competitors will be present, and the grandstands will resound to the characteristic shriek of two-stroke engines.
