FIA WEC – Entry list for the upcoming Rookie Test released

The entry list for the FIA Rookie Test has been revealed and includes drivers from the WRC, the W Series, Formula 3 and 4, the IMSA, Indy Lights and GT Racing.

For the upcoming Rookie Test at Bahrain, seven-time WRC World Champion Sébastien Ogier will share the Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar with Charles Milesi who was selected by the FIA WEC based on his remarkable performances with Team WRT this year. Richard Mille Racing has recruited two British W Series stars, Jamie Chadwick and Alice Powell, as well as French driver Lilou Wadoux. The three female drivers will test the #1 ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2.

DragonSpeed has confirmed the participation of Sébastien Montoya (Juan Pablo's son currently competing in Formula 4 in Italy and Germany with PREMA) in the #21 ORECA 07-Gibson. Team WRT will take the opportunity to try out Sophia Floersch and JOTA will do so with Malaysian driver Jazeman Jaafar. The 28-year-old is primarily known for his success in single-seaters (2007 BMW Formula in Asia and second place in the British Formula 3 Championship in 2012) prior to moving into sporting cars in 2016.

In LMGTE Pro, AF Corse has chosen Peter Mann, Simon Mann and Christof Ulrich for the Rookie Test. In LMGTE Am, Iron Lynx has opted for current Indy Lights driver Alexander Pironi. He will join Bruno Baptista, TCR Europe driver Franco Girolami (brother of WTCC star Nestor Girolami) and GT competitor Benjamin Goethe.

The Rookie Test is set for Sunday 7 November from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:00 local time the day after the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain, the 2021 FIA WEC season finale.
