Filipe Albuquerque, a victory before the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans

Before re-joining Audi for the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Filipe Albuquerque won the second round of the 2014 European Le Mans Series at Imola (Italy) at the wheel of the Zytek-Nissan entered by British team Jota Sport.

With his British team mates Simon Dolan and Harry Tincknell, the Portuguese driver enjoyed a perfect week-end on the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit: “Apart from the win we had pole position and I also achieved the fastest lap so it shows we were on the pace throughout. Harry did a fantastic opening stint and Simon’s stints at the end, with the pressure he was under and in a hot ambient temperature, was far from easy. My only real issue was trying to lap one particular LMP2 car when I was leading that ignored the blue flags.”

After this victory, Jota Sport’s Zytek-Nissan will be brought back to its base in Kent (Great Britain), where it will be stripped and rebuilt before leaving for France on Tuesday May 27 for the official Test Day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 1st). Filipe Albuquerque will be there as an Audi driver, re-joining his Le Mans team mates Oliver Jarvis and Marco Bonanomi at the wheel of the no. 3 Audi R18 e-tron quattro.
