Flavours of the 2016 WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

The No. 8 Audi R18 won at the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, second round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC). The race, final rehearsal before the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 18th and 19th), was full of twists and suspense. (Music Copyright: FIA WEC)

Audi came out on top at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps 2016, but it was a hard-fought race in all classes. Spa is the last race in the WEC calendar before the 24 Hours of Le Mans (18–19 June) and a chance for teams to show their form. The big three LM P1 constructors took turns to lead the race. In LM P2, Alpine’s #36 A460 Nissan Signatech won the day, overtaking the last rival with just fifteen minutes to go. Nail-biting!

In the GT classes, Ferrari and Aston Martin share the honours. Sam Bird and David Rigon won LM GTE Pro in the 488 GTE while in LM GTE Am, Pedro Lamy, Paul Dalla Lana and Mathias Lauda, who took pole position on Friday, drove the Aston Martin Vantage V8 to victory. Relive the highlights of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. What an atmosphere!
