Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo

Two new sets of simulators arrive for Christmas!

In late November, Microsoft and Sony launch their new consoles on the market. For gamers of endurance racing, the choice will be difficult.

Sony Playstation 4 is released on Friday, Nov.29, followed a week after with the sixth edition of Gran Turismo ... on Playstation 3! To play on Playstation 4, gamers will have to wait for a year or two according to developer Polyphony Digital. Fifteen years after the first edition, which set new standards in visual and physical rendering, Gran Turismo 6 looks very rich in novelties. Beyond a few more tracks being available, cars benefit from new more realistic graphics, especially with regard to the suspension detail. With 1200 models, including some glorious prototypes from the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Pescarolo, Audi and Toyota), and 33 tracks (including the "Circuit de la Sarthe"), the title looks like being successful!

In the opposite camp, Forza Motorsport, another benchmark in automotive simulation, see their fifth edition out exclusively on the new Xbox One on November 22 - the same time as the console. A month before D-Day, experts don't know very little about the title except that it looks very successful visually. The series, already renowned for its realism, promises to focus on artificial intelligence opponents, thanks to the system of "Drivatars" that will reproduce the driving style for each player - with the aim of competing against friends online, even when they are not connected. Although having fewer models than Gran Turismo 6, it however has some famous endurance models like the Mazda 787B and the  Audi R18 e-tron quattro.
