The hour-long third free practice got under way at 09:00. Light rain had been falling during the morning and this was reflected in slower times being set although the rain had stopped before the start of the session. Most cars were practicing on intermediate tyres on the cool, damp and overcast circuit.
By 9.30 43 out of the 45 cars have had been out - missing were #35 Oak Racing Pescarolo-Judd which was issuing a lot of smoke yesterday and #39 KSM Lola B08/47 - Judd.
Allan McNish put the #7 Audi at the top of the timing screens by the end of free practice but still a fraction slower than Minassian in the #1 Peugeot in the session on Friday afternoon.
