Gustavo Yacaman and Roman Rusinov (Ligier) excel at the triathlon in Florida

In 2015, drivers are accomplished athletes. Some decide to go from four to two wheels to train, others prefer to run or take part in swimming, while some choose...not to choose and instead engage in all three! Such is the case for Gustavo Yacaman and Roman Rusinov who race G-Drive Racing's Ligier in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Last weekend, the Russian and the Colombian competed in a round of the series of triathlons organized each year in south Florida. On the program: 400 m swimming, 10 miles (16 km) biking and 3.1 miles (5 km) running. Seem easy? The triathlon takes place in Miami where during the summer the temperature climbs easily above 30°C and the humidity level can reach 90%!

Gustavo Yacaman, who finished fourth in the LM P2 class at his first participation in the 24 Hours this year, is certainly used to it since he lives in Miami, but for Roman Rusinov, who claimed the third step on the podium at Le Mans, it's more difficult, especially since he had never participated in a triathlon before.

Both teammates did very well though with one win in his class for the driver of the No. 28 Ligier JS P2 and a third place finish for the driver of the sister car No. 26. Cars they will race again in a matter of days at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas for Lone Star Le Mans: looking foward to leaving behind the humidity of Miami for Austin's dry air!
