At the end of the auction of October 15, Henri Pescarolo issued a statement which has particularly welcomed the initiative of Jacques Nicolet and Joël Rivière.
"On entering the judicial sale of Pescarolo Sport I had the horrible feeling to come to attend my own funeral. It was a friendly but tearful occasion, strangers came and fans hoping for a miracle and others, checkbook in hand ready to finish the butchering that has been done methodically over the last year by former owner. My only slight consolation, was the number of journalists and photographers present, to show the disappearance of the team that I founded 10 years ago was headline news! My entire team gathered around me and watched in horror at the crazy auction that saw everything we had built up dispersed to the four corners of Europe.
To my surprise, I saw two friends
Joël Rivière (Prestige Racing) and my former partner Jacques Nicolet (OAK Racing) flanking another friend, Maître Poulain, make the last bid of the auction on all the lots sold. There was some applause and general amazement, as they symbolically handed me the keys to the workshop. We were back home! They left us in operation for the 2011 season and the two Pescarolo LMP1 they bought. My faith in human nature is restored and I can not thank them enough:
Joël and Jacques decided together by passion and friendship to ensure that no tool leaves the workshop Technoparc so I can restart my endurance team . "
Jacques Nicolet: "Our role was to facilitate things. OAK Racing is neither partner nor involved in the new structure that
Henri will start."
Joel River: "I will always be very close to
Henri."
Henri Pescarolo: "It's a wonderful hope for the future for all those who have never stopped supporting us, but also, for me, an additional responsibility. I take the reins, with a full team, good drivers and two very good cars. I must now confirm all my contacts. With my new faithful partner with us, we will deal with Endurance Championships and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and as always, the podium is the goal. "
