The #HY 5 Hope Racing Oreca SwissHytech Hybrid is the first ever hybrid powered car to race at the Le Mans 24 Hours, it's most experienced driver is Dutchman Jan Lammers at Le Mans for the 22nd time this year.

Jan Lammers said:" The car has now passed the necessary homologation test which requires the car to achieve 60mph and cover 400 metres on hybrid power only in the pit lane. A fault emerged at the Le Mans test day requiring a new part which prevented the team entering the ILMC round at Spa. The car though is relatively unproven and untested but is a very interesting project technically and maybe the ecological shape of things to come at Le Mans."

Jan is joined by the Dane Casper Elgaard who won LM P2 at Le Mans in 2009 driving a Porsche RS Spyder and Swiss driver Steve Zacchia who finished 16th overall in 2008 driving a Chrysler Viper.
