IMSA - The Scuderia Corsa team in GT LeMans with Ferrari

After having won the titles in GTD this year, Scuderia Corsa will re-up in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, new name of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, in two different classes: GTD and GTLM.

Founded in 2013 by Giacomo Mattioli and Art Zafiropoulo, Ferrari dealers in the U.S., to assist Ferrari customers interested in motorsports, Scuderia Corsa made a sensational debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans by claiming the third step on the podium in the LM GTE Am class in 2015 thanks to Townsend Bell, Bill Sweedler and Jeff Segal. The first two also won the title in the GTD class in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship after the finale at Petit Le Mans.

Nonetheless, only Jeff Segal will still play a part next year, and only at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, to support Christina Nielsen (see article) and Alessandro Balzan, who won in GT during the final season of the Grand Am Series after racing in the Italian Porsche Carrera Cup.

It's also a return to endurance for Alexandre Prémat who is set to drive the Ferrari 488 that Scuderia Corsa will enter in the GTLM class. A former official Audi driver, Prémat -whose best result in four participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans was fourth place - had since crossed the globe to race in Australia. He will share the wheel with Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Sera.

The first race for the two new Ferrari 488s will be at Daytona January 30-31, 2016.
