In his career, Jean-Karl Vernay has had foot in IndyCar and another LM P1. This time with Porsche, the French driver is perhaps in the right place at the right time!
His career as not been an easy one: Jean-Karl Vernay won in Indy Lights - feeder series of IndyCar - in 2010. Back in Europe the following year, the native of Villeurbanne was reserve driver with Peugeot Sport when 2012 seemed promising, but it was not to be.
Far from being discouraged by the withdrawal of Peugeot, the young driver did not hesitate to temporarily descend the motorsport ladder to engage in the Porsche Cup of France 2012. He took the title in this discipline and earned himself €200,000 to compete in the next season of Porsche Supercup. This is an important time to be joining the German manufacturer with the Porsche LM P1 programme taking shape.
Jean-Karl Vernay: "The support from Porsche is a great opportunity for me. All drivers need to adapt to a new vehicle. As a newcomer, it is an opportunity to be competitive entry. The Supercup is the ultimate in Porsche racing and has the reputation of being a springboard to professional GT"
