Kyle Busch moves from the Nascar Cup Series to the 24 Hours of Daytona

Champion of the 2019 Nascar Cup Series Kyle Busch took part in the Roar Before the 24, in preparation for the 24 Hours of Daytona. He will be taking the wheel of the Lexus RC-F GT3 fielded by AIM VASSER SULLIVAN. The American driver is relishing his first taste of endurance racing.

Kyle Busch will be lining up for the forthcoming 24 Hours of Daytona in a Lexus RC-F GT3, running in the GTD class. He will be sharing driving duties with Parker Chase, Jack Hawksworth and Michael De Quesada. He took advantage of the three-day test to familiarise himself with the particularities of endurance racing. “Jack taught me not to be on the outside in the traffic.”  Busch is also getting to grips with a different braking system. Contrary to the Toyota Camry he drives in Nascar, the Lexus has ABS. He was surprised at the visibility in Saturday’s night session too. “You hardly need headlights. The track is well lit. I’ve driven on tracks, especially dirt tracks, with very little visibility in places. I think my eyesight’s pretty good.

Busch is not the first to move from Nascar to Daytona. Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr, AJ Allmendinger, Jeff Gordon (winner in 2017 with Wayne Taylor Racing), Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson are among his predecessors.
