The Muscle Milk Pickett Honda ARX-03a beat their main rivals for the series title, the Lola-Mazda of Dyson Racing to pole position in LM P1, the premier prototype class. Dempsey Racing retains their place in the top 5 in qualifying for round three of the American Le Mans Series 2012. For his comeback, Montagny will start from second row.
The fastest time was set by Klaus Graf so he and his teammate Lucas Luhr will therefore leave from pole position, ahead of Chris Dyson, Guy Smith and Johnny Mowlem. “We've improved the car in each session," said Klaus Graf. Honda monopolized the second row of the grid and LM P2 pole with the two ARX-03b of the American team Level 5 Motorsports, who have two French drivers, Christophe Bouchut and Franck Montagny. The latter is listed on both cars, like the team owner and driver Scott Tucker, not to mention the presence of Luis Diaz. Both Hondas are ahead of the Lola-Judd of Patrick Dempsey, Joe Foster and Jonny Cocker, who has maintained the third position in LM P2 acquired after free practice on Thursday (read HERE). Find in the video above Montagny, who recalls his arrival at Level 5 Motorsports during the season, and the withdrawal of Peugeot (interview in English).
A competitor of the FIA World Endurance Championship, Aston Martin Racing with Darren Turner, Adrian Fernandez and Stefan Mücke (Aston Martin Vantage) set the best time in GT, ahead of Corvette and BMW, their two main opponents in this category in the American Le Mans Series.
