Larbre Compétition's Corvette driver line-up finalized for the 24 Hours of Le Mans

The trio set to share the wheel of Larbre Compétition's #50 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R at the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was revealed at the Royan dealership run by one of the three drivers, Christian Philippon. He will be joined by Fernando Rees and as previously announced, Romain Brandela.

A month ago, Romain Brandela announced on his Facebook page his third participation, the first in GT, in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but it was during a reception that the other two - French driver Christian Philippon (who will also compete at Road to Le Mans as a curtain-raiser to the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans) and Brazilian driver Fernando Rees - were confirmed.

Philippon has participated twice in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Pro class with Aston Martin Racing (sixth place twice in the class). While he will debut in LMGTE Am at Le Mans, he did contribute to Larbre Compétition's win of the 2012 FIA Endurance Trophy awarded to the best LMGTE Am team in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).

Initially designated head driver, Ricky Taylor ended up leaving the Corvette and LMGTE Am for Keating Motorsports' Riley MK30 and the LMP2 class.

In 2016, Larbre Compétion's Corvette finished in eighth place in the LMGTE Am class. This June 17th, Jack Leconte's team will take the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the…24th time!
