Sports Director for the Italian team, Battistino Pregliasco wants first and foremost to underscore the fundamental role the 24 Hours had in the quest for the LM GTE Pro title in 2013: "If we do not do well at Le Mans, the entire remainder of the season is compromised. Last year, we were really quite close to victory at Le Mans, but Aston Martin and Porsche were faster than us. We did everything we could to be consistent early in the season, especially at Le Mans with the double points, which allowed us to take the title at the wire in Bahrain. This year, we will do our best to try to win, and we will take each race as it comes, case by case."

Up against Porsche and Aston Martin, in 2014 AF Corse is also a technical partner with 8Star Motorsports, title winner in the LM GTE Am class in 2013, and will support the debut of the Russian SMP Racing team. "Last year, we were technical suppliers in the LM P2 class for Pecom Racing, the Argentian gentleman-driver Luis Perez-Companc's team, but he decided to return to the LM GTE class this year, explains Battistino Pregliasco. We subsequently signed a technical partnership agreement with SMP Racing. With 8Star Motorsports, it will happen as it did in 2013: the team is a client, who will have the same platform preparation and technical support as the 458 Italia of AF Corse in the class. We could keep our information to ourselves, but we decided to share with them…And they won last year, it's sports, and bravo to them!" At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, AF Corse will ensure the preparation of no less than ten cars, including eight invited Ferrari 458 Italia cars.
