Third in the LM P2 class at the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans along with Nelson Panciatici and Oliver Webb, the French driver is the recipient of this distinction given every year to a young French driver for his talent, his perseverance and his bravery.
In a competitive LM P2 class up to and including the final moments, Signatech-Alpine presented well by claiming the third step on the podium behind the teams Jota Sport and Thiriet by TDS Racing. Note that in 2012, it was Nelson Panciatici who received the Prix Jean Rondeau. Proof, if it's needed, that Philippe Sinault's team highlights French motorsports drivers.
Paul-Loup Chatin: "It is a great honour to receive such an award. I hope to live up to the faith put in me. When I see the level of the other driver recipients, I take stock of the favour you are doing for me today. I also owe this trophy to Alpine. This Prix Jean Rondeau goes perfectly with the marque's renaissance spirit. There is a real desire to participate in the promotion of young drivers."
Bernard Ollivier (Alpine Director): "We are very proud and honoured to see Paul-Loup Chatin receive such an award. Alpine has always given young drivers a chance. Paul-Loup is warm and accessible. There are not many drivers capable of his prowess on the track all while studying at Sciences Po Paris. He was with us as a Junior driver last year. He proves each time that he deserves our confidence in him."
