In LM P1 the two Porsche 919 Hybrids dominated the session by setting a time two seconds faster than the competition. Thus, Porsche No. 20 (Webber / Hartley / Bernhard) is positioned in provisional pole position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014 in front of the sister car No. 14 Dumas / Lieb / Jani.
Both Toyota TS 040 hybrids ranked 3rd and 4th of the timesheets however in the No.7 at the very end of the session, Stéphane Sarrazin came to rest at the Dunlop chicane, due to mechanical problems. Audi drivers were probably cautious after the spectacular crash of Loïc Duval and are relegated by more than three seconds from Porsche No. 20. This session was shortened by a red flag, but there is another session tomorrow.
G Drive Racing confirmed the performance they have shown since the beginning of the season. The Morgan -. Nissan # 26 (Canal / Rusinov / Pla) set the fastest time of the session in 3'38 "843 followed by the Alpine A450 # 36. In third place was the KCMG team who showed a significant performance in a heavily contested class.
GTE Pro saw the crew of Fisichella / Bruni / Vilander dominate. Other competitors including Aston Martin (97) Porsche (92) and Corvette (73) are grouped behind the Ferrari of the AF Corse team.
In GTE Am, the Ferrari 458 Italia of SMP Racing has the fastest time, ahead of another Ferrari, the No. 61 AF Corse. Third was the Porsche 911 GT3-RSR of Proton Competition Dempsey Racing set a time of 3'57 "004.
Nissan ZEOD RC No. 0 did not complete a flying lap tonight. Japanese car suffered a gearbox problem which has immobilized it for a good part of the evening.
Final qualification will take place tomorrow from 19: 00 to 21:00 and 22:00-00:00. Then we will know the starting grid for the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans whose start will be on Saturday, 15:00.
