• David Hallyday (#76 Porsche), aka David Smet, having his fifth race here, is the son of Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan.
•Jeroen Bleekemolen (#79 Porsche) is the son of Michael, seen in F1 in 1977 and 1978 and has a brother Sebastiaan, who drives a Viper in the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship.
• Sébastien Buemi (Toyota #8) is the grandson of Georges Gachnang, seen at Le Mans in 1960 in an AC Ace, and his cousin is Natacha Gachnang, seen here in 2010 in a Ford GT and in 2013 in a Morgan.
• Alex Brundle (Morgan # 35) is the son of Martin, who has raced 9 times at Le Mans in Jaguar, Nissan, Toyota, Bentley and Zytek and was the winner of the 1990 race.
• Julien Canal (Morgan # 26) is the son of Frederic , who in 1974 in a Mazda RX3 did not qualify to race.
• Chris Dyson (Zytek # 42) is the son of Rob Dyson, ninth in 1986 in a Porsche 956 B.
• Marc Gené (Audi # 1) is the younger brother Jordi Gené, seen in 2000, 2001 and 2002 in Reynards for the ROC team (who had a LMP675 victory in 2001)
• Archie Hamilton (Ferrari # 53) is the grandson of Duncan Hamilton, winner for Jaguar in a XK120C in 1953 and who raced here 9 times form 1950-58.
• Matt McMurry (Zytek # 41) is the son of Chris, here in a Pilbeam in 2003 and in 2008 in a Creation.
• Kazuki Nakajima (Toyota # 7) is the son of Satoru, here in 1985 and 1986 at the wheel of the Tom's Toyota.
• Leo Roussel (Morgan # 29) is the nephew of Patrice Roussel, here in 1993 in a Venturi, in 1995 in a Debora, a Norma in 2003 and from 2004 to 2006 in WRs.
• Ricky Taylor (Morgan # 50) and Jordan Taylor (Corvette # 73) are the sons of Wayne Taylor, who raced 13 times at Le Mans between 1987 and 2002 ( in Porsche, Spice, Nissan, Ferrari, BRM, Riley & Scott and Cadillac).
• Nicki Thiim (Aston Martin # 95) is the son of Kurt, here in 1991 in a Sauber-Mercedes C11.
• Jan Magnussen (Corvette # 73) is the father of Kevin, the McLaren F1 driver.
• Peter Mann (Ferrari # 60) is the youngest son of Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, 13 entries between 1929 and 1955 under the pseudonyms "Ano", "Ferret" and "Helde" in Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Talbot, Ferrari, Osca & DB cars.
• Panciatici (Alpine No. 36) is the son of Jacques Panciatici, famous rallydriver in the 70s and 80s and Bernadette Sacy, competitor in the Paris Dakar Rally and Andros trophy.
