With less than an hour before the end of the qualifying sessions, the first row is composed of a Toyota TS040 Hybrid and a Porsche 919 Hybrid, with a gap of less than four tenths. The trio Nakajima/Sarrazin/Wurz (No. 7 Toyota) took the lead with a lap in 3:21:789 over the other LM P1-H class competitors, but the positions are quite tight since there is barely a second between the first four - in order, No. 7 Toyota, No. 14 Porsche, No. 8 Toyota and No. 20 Porsche. The three Audis, set back, followed each other as if on parade, whereas the two Rebellion R-Ones quickened the pace.
In the LM P2, the gaps are very, very weak, the first three are at less than three tenths. Ligier places, for now, two cars on the podium thanks to Thiriet by TDS Racing and OAK Racing, who flank Jota Sport's Zytek.
A surprise among the GTs since the pole is held by an LM GTE Pro class car, second place goes to a competitor in the LM GTE Am class. The Ferraris are very vivacious with the best time in both classes of an AF Corse 458 Italia. With a gap of more than a second on its immediate pursuer, the No. 51 Ferrari leads the No. 73 Corvette and the No. 97 Aston Martin in the LM GTE Pro class, whereas in the LM GTE Am class, AF Corse and Ferrari, once again, dominate with nearly a second on the two Aston Martin Vantages.
