Le Mans Esports Series – Pro individual drivers qualify at the Sebring round

The fifth individual qualifying round of the Le Mans Esports Series took place this past weekend at the Sebring circuit with the Ford GTE. WIL Handicap, AttilaRacer and LSEM Newton won their respective regions and will participate in the Super Finale at Le Mans in September.

Nearly 8,000 drivers from all over the world took on the bumpy Sebring circuit in Florida with the Ford GTE. The Le Mans Esports Series, accessible in Rivals mode in Forza Motrosport 7, continues to attract more and more gamers passionate about endurance racing.

For this qualifying round, with one of the top GTs hitting the legendary Sebring circuit, the drivers needed to focus on their technique and rhythm. After a first rather daunting corner, they went through a series of rapid turns and then a strong braking before the famous Turn 10. Going into the straight – a former airstrip – they already knew if your time would be good, but there remained one final extremely bumpy corner the Ford GT has a tendancy to jump. At the straight, Brazilian gamer Wil Handicap clocked the fastest time of 2:01.353. AttilaRacer (third) was the top Europe-Middle East zone representative in 2:01.458. The French driver will head to Le Mans in September for the Super Finale as will LSEM Newton (sixth overall) for the Asia zone.

The three gamers have joined the 12 other drivers already qualified during previous rounds, namely:

  • Nürburgring: GaryLeeMitchell (THR Mitch) FRF Warrior and Craviator (with the Lancia Beta)
  • Silverstone: RZM_Vain, 'the BrainDamage' and AyrtonGoki (with the Mazda 787B)
  • Road Atlanta: JSR Type Ry, FRF Solo kiNg and LSEM SirLagALot (with the Ferrari 458 GTE).
  • Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans): LSEM Fenrir, RZM Vettel and FcT DjokeR (with the Porsche 919 Hybrid)
