Le Mans Virtual Series – Taking on the Nordschleife at the 8 Hours of Nürburgring

The 8 Hours of Nürburgring, third round of the Le Mans Virtual Series, will take place on Saturday 13 November at the legendary and demanding Nordschleife where the LMP2 class has not yet competed.

Nestled in the Eifel mountains in the west of Germany, the Nürburgring Nordschleife is one of the most famous circuits in Europe. It has long been considered an ultimate tests of skill, speed and endurance for constructors and drivers, and will be the scene of the third round of the 2021-2022 Le Mans Virtual Series on Saturday 13 November for professional drivers and simracers.

The 8 Hours of Nürburgring will be held at the 21 km circuit boasting a 1.6 km straight, more than 100 turns, and stunning climbs and descents all in ever-changing weather conditions. It is recognized as a particularly difficult and challenging track and is not as widely used as other European circuits, whether in the real or virtual world. Total focus and a strong competitive spirit are crucial. Additionally, LMP2 class competitors have never raced at the Nordschleife in real life.

IndyCar star Felix Rosenqvist will once again join forces with Bono Huis and Collin Spork in Team Redline's #123 ORECA 07 in an attempt to repeat their win at the last round at Spa. The trio in Floyd ByKOLLES-Burst's #2 comprised of Dillmann, Pedersen and Simončič will aim to improve on the team's previous second and third place finishes.

GPX Rebellion Williams' #22 ORECA 07 will be driven by Williams F1 reserve driver Jack Aitken as well as Jiri Toman and Marcell Csincsik. FIA F2 star Liam Lawson will share Red Bull Racing Esports' #11 ORECA 07 with Alex Siebel and Dennis Jordan.

Young Argentinian driver Franco Colapinto, who has quickly made a name for himself in endurance races, is set to represent the WRT SIMTAG Esports team in the #31 car. The outfit won the FIA LMP2 Teams trophy last weekend at the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain.

The duel is looking fiercer than ever in GTE between BMW Team Redline's #71 BMW and Porsche Esports' #91 Porsche.

The virtual race will start at 13:00 local time on Saturday 13 November. Watch it on the 24 Hours of Le Mans Facebook page or YouTube channel, and for more info, go to the official Le Mans Virtual Series website.
