To acknowledge the 110th anniversary of the birth of the 'Salon de l'Automobile' in Paris Bonhams will hold an auction at the Grand Palais on the 5th of February. In the 90 cars offered for sale, is a Ferrari 330 GT that belonged to John Lennon.

In 1965, it was announceed by all the British newspapers that the Beatles legend had passed his driving test . In the book "John Lennon - A Life", Philip Norman says that all distributors of luxury cars (Maserati, Aston Martin, Jaguar) in the area of Weybridge then laid siege to John Lennon's property at Kenwood. Causing a traffic jam outside his house like no other. He eventually choose a Ferrari 330 GT 2 +2 "Azzuro" (light blue metallic) at a cost of £2000 , before selling it again in November that year. The presence of this car for sale Bonhams Paris offers a surprising postscript to 2010, marking the fortieth anniversary of the Beatles and the thirtieth of the assassination of John Lennon. Will it be bought by a Beatles fanl? We will find out at the Grand Palais Paris on the 5th February 2011.
