Léo Roussel and Dean Stoneman join Manor in the LMP1 class for the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Chinese team Manor, now called CEFC TRSM Racing, is moving up to the LMP1 class for the 2018-2019 Super Season of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). On the heels of yesterday's announcement that Alex Brundle will share the #6 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 with Oliver Rowland, the names of two drivers for the #5 sister car have now been revealed.

Dean Stoneman and Léo Roussel have just been named for the #5 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 Mecachrome. The two men will join Charlie Robertson, finalizing the driver line-up set to compete in the 2018-2019 Super Season of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).

Léo Roussel, defending European Le Mans Series champion (representing the G-Drive Racing team with Memo Rojas), is well-known at the 24 Hours given that he serves as a driving instructor at the Le Mans Karting school. Joining Manor will allow Roussel to participate in the LMP1 class for the first time of his career, though he has already taken part in the 24 Hours, three times between 2014 and 2016, each time with Pegasus Racing (Morgan LMP2-Nissan). "I am thrilled to join the team, it's a great opportunity for me. It was the next step after winning the ELMS LMP2 title last year. I believe we have a solid driver line-up with Charlie and Dean and a good team in CEFC TRSM Racing. I can't wait for the championship to start."

Roussel will be joined by Dean Stoneman, a seasoned single-seaters driver (Formula 2 champion in 2010, second in the GP3 Series in 2014 and an Andretti Autosport team member in Indy Lights, a developmental racing series under the IndyCar Series, in 2016) as well as experienced in GT (Strakka Racing at the wheel of a McLaren 650 GT3 in 2017 in the Blancpain GT Series).

Following these two consecutive annnouncements, only one spot remains for the #6 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 that Alex Brundle and Oliver Rowland are confirmed to share. The team will soon head to the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet for the FIA WEC official tests called the Prologue on April 6th and 7th, then on to Belgium for the opening round of the season, Spa-Francorchamps, on May 5th ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 16th and 17th.
