Three weeks after the podium earned in the LM P2 category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Level 5 Motorsports goes to Imola (Italy) for the fourth round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup 2011.

Unlike the three previous rounds, Level 5 Motorsports will run the spyder version of the Lola-Honda, not the coupe version. The Spyder can use larger restrictor, and thus provides more power to the V6 2.8-litre twin-turbo. As in previous races, Scott Tucker will partner with Christophe Bouchut and Joao Barbosa. The Lola-Honda #33 was flown in after the first two rounds of the American Le Mans Series which took place in the spring. It was first prepared at Level 5 Motorsports on the Silverstone circuit in England before being sent to Italy.

The last race for Christophe Bouchut at the Imola circuit was in 2007, while attending the FIA GT Championship: "I am sure that this new car we can probably save up a second a lap. Victory is within reach, despite fierce competition in the LM P2 category. I can not wait ... " João Barbosa also has fond memories of this track, one of the few in Europe to run anticlockwise. The Portuguese driver raced several times in the mid 90's, Formula 3 and Formula Ford "The team was already familiar with this car at Sebring. Also, I think many of the acquired data are applicable to this Coupe car. So other than the fact of not having a roof over our heads, it will not be a big change. But I think the extra power will bring us to the leaders. " It will however be the Imola debut for Scott Tucker, who will learn on the track by driving a Speed Euroseries championship car in a double program. He will be driving the #55 Ligier JS51 prepared by Horag Racing: "I think that dual entry will allow me to familiarize myself with the track. In addition, the experience of my teammates and João and Christophe will be very useful. "

Level 5 Motorsports is currently second in the standings of the LM P2 category, only 18 points from the French team Signatech-Nissan.

6 hours Imola will be held from 1st to 3rd July. For the entry list, click here.
