At the fourth round of the 2012 season at Lime Rock (Connecticut), the Dempsey Racing team had its best result so far in the American Le Mans Series, with two third places in LM P2 and LMPC classes.
For only its second appearance in LM P2, the Lola-Judd No.27 driven by Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster scored a podium finish. The second car Dempsey Racing, the Oreca FLM09 No.25 Henri Richard and Duncan Ende, achieved a similar result in LMPC. “As far as our 27 effort, Patrick drove a fantastic stint, lots of crazy traffic here, and my opening stint was good and a little bit longer than planned.” Several safety car periods early in the race, changed the strategy of the team. The decision was taken not to make one driver change, and Patrick Dempsey was still driving to the finish for his first podium in ALMS. “We have a lot to work on to get up to pace,” Dempsey said. “Made a lot of mistakes in the pits and out on the track in traffic, but very, very happy with the result. A lot to build on, certainly, we overcame a lot of little problems in the car for a good result and we are ready to move on to the next step from here.”
The fourth round of the American Le Mans Series 2012 will be on the 22nd of July at Mosport in Canada.
