The hope to renew the 2009 result only lasted 22 minutes. On Sunday, the engine failure of the Oreca 908 offered the 4th position to David Richards’ team at 2.41 PM, but the engine of the 009 Aston Martin broke at 3.03 PM! Thanks to the 007 car, the Aston Martin Racing team finished 6th, 32 laps down the overall winners and behind the winning LMP2. It was a shame considering the stunning time set by Darren Turner in the race (3:23.735). The car apparently had very few evolutions, and with more determination, Aston Martin had the potential to battle with Peugeot and Audi. Probably next year!
The Lola Aston Martin entered by the French team Signature Plus had a good race until Vanina Ickx ran off at the first chicane of the Hunaudières. Considering the end of the race, the black and white car could have finished 4th, but this year the Le Mans 24 Hours decided to be a difficult race for lady drivers.
