Lord Drayson breaks an electric speed record

On the runway of Elvington Airfield near York (UK) on the 26th of June, a new electric land speed record was set.

The Drayson Lola B12 69/EV all electric  Prototype broke the previous  record of 175mph which had stood since 1974, by nearly 30mph.The former British government  minister Paul Drayson broke the speed record with an average speed of 204.185 miles per hour (328.6 km/h).  The  car  was fitted with Michelin tyres. In 1899 the 'Jamais Contente' broke the 100km/h barrier fitted with pneumatic tyres of the same manufacturer.
