In 1950 he made history by winning the 24 Hours race with his father, also named Louis. This family team, who ran a Talbot-Lago T26 GS, was also the first French victory since the rebirth of the race in 1949. In all, Louis Rosier Jr. participated in five editions (1949-50-51-53-54, under the name of Jean-Louis Rosier). He was classified twice: in addition to his victory in 1950, he also finished 23rd in 1953, driving a Renault 4CV shared with Robert Schollmann.
Louis Rosier Jr., who celebrated his 86 years on 14th June was the oldest surviving former winner of the 24 Hours. On 1st July he went to join his father Louis (1905-1956) in the legend of motorsport.
