In the absence of the factory Corvettes, which moved to the LMGT2 category, the GT1 victory was the objective of the team headed by the former 3-time Skiing World Champion. This ambition was confirmed by the 73, which had the class lead after six hours of racing. Unfortunately it lost 25 minutes after a runoff during the second caution. After repair, Julien Jousse pushed to the max to catch up with the Larbre Compétition Saleen. A broken transmission caused his retirement on Sunday morning, but the 72 took the GT1 runner-up spot.

In the early part of the race, a collision with a prototype caused many issues totalizing one hour and about 15 laps in the pits… and there were only four laps missing to beat the Saleen. Luc Alphand scored his third Le Mans class podium (in 2006, 2009 and 2010) and was not so disappointed, paying homage to his competitor: “Better to see another French car win the GT1 class!”
