Michelin Le Mans Cup – 31 cars for the 2021 season

The Michelin Le Mans Cup entry list has been revealed for the 2021 season. Thirty-one cars are set to tackle some of Europe’s toughest racetracks over seven races. Road To Le Mans will be the season’s highlight.

LMP3 prototypes will make up the biggest contingent in the 2021 Michelin Le Mans Cup field with 24 of the 31 entries. They will be joined by six GT3s and an innovative car in the shape of the hydrogen-electric prototype of H24 Racing. Eighteen nations will be represented (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and USA).

In LMP3, DKR Engineering, the four-time champion team, will defend its crown with the #3 Duqueine in the hands of an all-American driver line-up. The field will comprise six Duqueine M30-D08s in all, plus 17 Ligier JS P320s and one Adess-EVO. Six new teams will be making their Michelin Le Mans Cup début in this class (WTM Powered by Phoenix, Team Thor, Racing Spirit of Le Mans, Frikadelli Racing Team, R-Breizh Competition and Black Falcon). United Autosports will enter three prototypes.

The 2021 GT3 title will be a three-way fight between Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes. Reigning GT3 champion driver, Rino Mastronardi, will once again line up for Iron Lynx who took the team title in 2020.

Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest: The Michelin Le Mans Cup has attracted an impressive entry list for the new season. The 30-car barrier has been broken which shows the appeal of this championship. This first step on the Endurance ladder will also provide an excellent opportunity for the H24, the hydrogen-electric prototype, to test the water in competition.

Frédéric Lequien, CEO of Le Mans Endurance Management: The Michelin Le Mans Cup continues to grow and attract high-calibre teams and drivers looking to break into the world of Endurance. The field will exceed 30 entries and this strengthens our determination to stage a demanding competition in which these teams and drivers can excel. I wish to welcome the new teams and drivers to the Michelin Le Mans Cup and thank the many competitors who are joining us for this exciting new season. We cannot wait for the opening race of the 2021 season next month in Barcelona.
