Mid-Ohio qualifying FERRARIS LOCK OUT GT FRONT ROW

The two Ferrari F430 GTs of Risi Competizione took the front row of the GT grid in the sixth round American Le Mans Series (ALMS) 2010.

It was the newcomers in the No. 61, Toni Vilander and Giancarlo Fisichella who made the best time, ahead of Jaime Melo and Gimmi Bruni (No. 62), sponsored by the Ferrari dealership in Houston. Vilander even set a new qualifying lap record in GT with 1:19.682 in qualifying. "But I do not know too much what to expect because this circuit is new for me as much as for Giancarlo, " commented the Finn. "But we could count on Risi Competizione and its fantastic experience for this field, as well as our teammates Jaime and Gimmi, who are really fast." It is the team’s fourth pole position from the six ALMS rounds held so far, and Vilander’s second pole in the series.

Ferrari Giuseppe Risi shot forward from the 12th and 13th positions on the grid Initially, in front of the two factory Corvettes of Gavin-Beretta and Magnussen-O'Connell and the Rahal Letterman Racing BMW M3 of Joey Hand and Dirk Müller.
