Miss 24 Heures du Mans–Le Maine Libre talks about motorsport

Clarisse Aleid-Ripoche, 23, was recently elected Miss 24 Heures du Mans–Le Maine Libre. Being a native of Le Mans, Clarisse is naturally interested in motorsport.

Are you a fan of motorsport?

I’m really interested in cars. When I was a young girl, I wanted to be a designer in this field. I have always liked drawing. I don’t know why but it was usually cars!

I often read the motoring press and I watch the programme Turbo on TV. I have never really raced but I did a bit of karting as a child. I loved it!

What does the 24 Hours of Le Mans mean to you?

It’s an opportunity for Le Mans to shine on an international stage! I’m very proud that it is held in my home town. My family and I go along every year to the public events for the 24 Hours, like Scrutineering and the Drivers Parade.

This will be my first time at the circuit for the race. I’m extremely proud to represent this event! I’ll have a chance to see what goes on backstage, meet the drivers and the staff...

Do you have a favourite driver?

Fernando Alonso!

Do you hope to work in motorsport later?

I’m working as a replacement English teacher at the moment, but I’m still not sure if that’s what I want to do later. If the opportunity comes along to work in motorsport, well why not?
