From pole position in the fourth round American Le Mans Series in 2011, the Lola-Aston Martin of Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr, this time conquered the two Lola-Mazdas of Dyson Racing.

This is the second win of the season for Muscle Milk / Team CytoSport, who won last year on the same circuit with the Porsche RS Spyder: Klaus Graf: “We certainly found a good setup and have good memories from last year. The RS Spyder handled like it was born at this track. We did some testing with the Aston Martin this year to find good aero balance and get the car to where it is now." Chris Dyson and Guy Smith finished second to 28 seconds ahead of Steven Kane and Humaid Al Masaood, Dyson Racing teammates.

In GT, Corvette ended the domination of the BMW M3, unbeaten in the 2011 ALMS season. Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen won the category ahead of the Ferrari 458 Italia of Jaime Melo and Toni Vilander (Risi Competizione) and the BMW of Dirk Werner and Bill Auberlen. Jan Magnussen: “We were pushing as hard as we could the whole race, same as the Ferrari. It's a really fast car, I had to wait for him to make a mistake for a while. He finally made one in traffic and I was able to take advantage. I knew I couldn't pull away from him on speed, so I knew I had to take some chances in traffic to keep ahead of him.”  The fifth race of the ALMS 2011 will be at the Mid-Ohio circuit on 5th and 6th August.
