After making his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 2012 driving an Oreca LM P2 of Signatech-Nissan (4th in class), the young Nelson Panciatici is getting ready for his third rally (and second Monte-Carlo) at just 23. Panciatici, who comes from the French city of Reims will be driving a Renault Twingo of the Gliese Engineering team.
Nelson Panciatici : "For a track racer, the main difficulty is the reading the road for changes in grip! I'm doing it for fun but I am preparing well, watching videos from on-board cameras. Rallying teaches me positive things for the circuit, especially in difficult conditions, I am having fun while making progress!"
Some rally drivers like Sébastien Ogier have gone in the other direction, practising on the tarmac of the Bugatti circuit!
The start of the "Rallye de Monte-Carlo" will be in the town of Valence on Wednesday 16th January.
