The 'cousins' Audi and Porsche chose the same time to unveil their new cars. If the reception Audi kept everyone's attention, the Porsche Night of Champions also deserved a visit.
It takes a trained eye to differentiate the 997 GT3-RSR unveiled yesterday. Yet, according to the engineers in Stuttgart, the whole shape has revised aerodynamics - from end to end. The engine gained five horsepower and substantial progress in fuel economy through optimized mapping and a redesigned exhaust system.
For drivers, the Porsche family grew with the arrival of the Bavarians Marco Holzer alongside the faithful Jorg Bergmeister, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas, Wolf Henzler, Marc Lieb, Richard Lietz, Patrick Long and Patrick Pilet.
In 2011, men and machines will be assigned to take the ILMC title and keep the trophies won this season at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Le Mans Series and ALMS.
