The French driver joined the Anglo-Swiss team in 2009 and has won with it many victories: at Petit Le Mans in 2012, and four of the last five rounds of the Endurance Trophy for Private Teams in LM P1 in the FIA World Endurance Championship. As announced in June at the 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rebellion Racing will build its own LM P1 prototype in partnership with Oreca, responding to the new FIA/ACO regulations in 2014 to participate in the World Championship from next year. Nicolas Prost, who participated in the technical meetings from the start of the programme, is very involved in the project which will be called the Rebellion R-One.

Nicolas Prost: "I know the team well, I'm very comfortable here and I am always involved in the development of the team. We have grown together over the years and it feels like absolutely the right thing to stay with REBELLION Racing. The R-One project is really exciting and I am proud to have been associated with the project from the first meeting. It is also nice to work again with ORECA with whom I raced my first 24 Heures du Mans in 2007."

Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team Manager: "As there was a strong desire from both sides to continue the partnership, it was a logical decision to extend our relationship with Nico. The decision was actually made a long time ago, but there was no rush to make a public announcement at that time.  Nico is a key driver for the team and it's great to see his commitment is as high as ever. We are looking forward to racing together in 2014 in the new and exciting era for the top category of Le Mans prototypes."

In six appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nicolas Prost raced five times in the colours of Rebellion Racing, with his best result a fourth place in 2012 with the Swiss driver Neel Jani and the German Nick Heidfeld. The trio won the 2012 Petit Le Mans race, the traditional closing round of the American Le Mans Series and will attempt to win again next Saturday, October 19, a second consecutive victory at the wheel of the Lola-Toyota coupe .
