Although Alain Prost has never participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, for his son Nicolas it is in fact the goal of his career.
Unlike most of its counterparts, Nicolas Prost came only late to motorsport. Having studied economics in the United States, he made his first steps in motorsport in 2003, at the age of 22 years. Four years later he began at the 24 Hours of Le Mans driving a big American GT car the Saleen S7R. Since then, the native of Saint-Chamond has grown steadily more experienced, becoming one of the leading drivers of one of the most prominent teams: Rebellion Racing. Sixth in 2011, fourth in 2012 ...maybe second in 2013?
He said:"Last year, we had a perfect race. Hopefully it will be the same this time. Above us there are five factory cars (3 Audi and 2 Toyota ) and we know they will fighting for the lead ... you never know. I think the podium is possible. "

Pending the commencement of hostilities, Nicolas enjoys the atmosphere of scrutinnering and being able to communicate with the public.
"The first time I was a little stressed at the magnitude of the event, he recalls. Now it's different, I am now more experienced and know what to expect"
Next year, Rebellion Racing will continue their progress with a new endurance prototype, the R-One, and the team has high hopes ... Maybe even one to be able to fight with the major manufacturers?
"It will be difficult, but not impossible. I think there are advantages to being a private team. There is less inertia, less politics, less compromise ... Decisions can be made faster. When you see the small gap separating us today withAudi and Toyota, we can dream to compete with them. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! "
And he's right, it's by engaging with this strength and determination that "minnows"such as Pescarolo, Courage and Rondeau (and now Rebellion) have managed to shakeup the old order in the past!
