Proton Competition has revealed the look of the #44 Ford Mustang LMGT3 destined for the 92nd 24 Hours of Le Mans (12-16 June), and the team also announced the arrival of a new driver.
The German team had yet to present the livery of its third Ford Mustang LMGT3 headed to the upcoming 92nd 24 Hours of Le Mans, but now that's a done deal. The primarily yellow and black car will sport the number 44 and boast two black racing stripes.
Proton Competition took the opportunity to announce that rather than team owner Christian Ried joining forces with Ben Tuck and Christopher Mies, it has recruited John Hartshorne (age 67). The British driver has taken the start in the 24 Hours three times previously. The most recent, in 2021, was at the wheel of TF Sport's Aston Martin Vantage AMR, finishing eighth in the LMGTE Am category.
The outfit's other two Ford Mustang LMGT3s will be entrusted to Ryan Hardwick, Zacharie Robichon and Benjamin Barker in the #77, and Giorgio Roda, Mikkel Pedersen and Dennis Olsen in the #88.
