OAK Racing and Mecenat Chirurgie Cardiaque in the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours

A regular partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Mecenat Chirurgie Cardiaque is once again partnering with OAK Racing for the second year in a row at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Mecenat Chirurgie Cardiaque enables children suffering from cardiac malformations from underprivileged countries to come to France for an operation when this is impossible in their homeland because of a lack of technical and financial resources. They are given board and lodging by volunteers host families and operated on in nine cities in France (Angers, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Paris, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Tours). Already more than 2500 children have been treated since the creation of the Association in 1996.

This visibility is part of a number of different actions carried out by the team and the Association to collect funds at the Le Mans 24 Hours. For these 24 Hours to save Hearts, Fund Raising Event, Mécenat Chirurgie Cardiaque can count on several other partners who support its actions, in particular the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, its partner for the last six years.

Thus, Erik Maris, Jean-Marc Merlin and Jacques Nicolet, the trio of gentlemen drivers at the wheel of the no. 35 Ligier JS P2 will give an additional meaning to their passion. They will race in the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours to support the action of Mécenat Chirurgie Cardiaque to save children’s lives. They are both delighted and honoured to carry the colours of this Association. In 2014, the no. 33 Ligier JS P2 of the team from the Sarthe and its drivers Ho-Pin Tung, David Cheng and Adderly Fong were proud to support the actions of the Association.

Patrice Roynette (President of Mecenat Chirurgie Cardiaque): “For the second year running Jacques Nicolet and the whole OAK Racing team have renewed their support of Mécenat Chirurgie Cardiaque. This supportive partnership is an incredible opportunity for our organisation to increase its visibility and tell people about its social mission: namely, to operate on and save children suffering from cardiac malformations from all over the world. A big thanks.”

Jacques Nicolet (OAK Racing President and driver): “For the OAK Racing team and for the drivers in the no. 35 Ligier JS P2 it’s a great pleasure to make their contribution to the action of Mécenat ChirurgieCardiaque to save children. Thus our race takes on another dimension, and for us all this Le Mans 24 Hours will have a special meaning.”
