As the owner of his own team, Patrick Dempsey had his best season yet, with a total of over fifty races in the American Le Mans Series and Grand Am. A promising performance, pending a comeback in the 24 Hours Le Mans planned for the 90th anniversary edition (22nd and 23rd June 2013).
Patrick Dempsy walks ever more in the footsteps of Steve McQueen and Paul Newman. In addition to this intense race schedule, Patrick Dempseyalso attended the inauguration of the Circuit of the Americas (Austin, Texas), that last week saw the return of Formule 1 to the USA.
Two series, five cars sixteen drivers, fifty one races. Dempsey Racing was the only team to contest both major American endurance series, with a Mazda RX-8 in Grand Am GT class, and in LMPC (Oreca FLM09) and LM P2 (Lola coupe) in ALMS. "I think the whole exercise has been really good, we know exactly what we need to focus on next year. It’s going to be a good year next year”, said the actor/driver/team owner.

Visiting to the Circuit of the Americas. Lotus test driver Jérôme d'Ambrosio had the honour of the first laps in an F1 car, and Patrick Dempsey was finally able to take to the track at the wheel: "I spent a wonderful day with Jerome and the people of the Lotus team, but we had engine problems that prevented me driving the RE30. That said, I was able to drive a Ferrari 458." Patrick Dempsey also attended the F1 race with other film personalities like actor Matt LeBlanc, from series" Friends ", and director George Lucas, a big fan of motorsport. The Circuit of the Americas will host the fifth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2013.

Meanwhile, the filming the documentary in four parts of Dempsey Racing continued at the races in 2012 and will reach its climax at the return of the team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2013 of the Mazda-powered Lola LM P2 coupe. It is scheduled to be broadcast television in the United States in August 2013.
