Patrick Dempsey in the footsteps of Sam Posey (video)

After remembering Steve McQueen last week, Patrick Dempsey met this time with an icon of American sportscar racing: Sam Posey. An eclectic character, the New York native, after hanging up his helmet has become a highly respected sports commentator.

An iconic driver in the Can Am and Trans Am series, Sam Posey also has an interesting record in endurance racing with a win in a BMW CSL at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1975 (from 9 attempts) and a third place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1971 with a Ferrari 512M (from 10 attempts). For the record, the American driver, a painter in his spare time, burst through the scene at La Sarthe 11 months after his first race ... See their meeting in the video below, taken from the series of four documentaries about Patrick Dempsey at Le Mans.
