The first practice session of the Silverstone weekend took place from 13.15 to 14.15 in dry conditions. The surprise of the session was the #12 Rebellion Lola Toyota in fifth place, a second off the best times. 

Although dry today, the outlook is wet, and that has a significance for driver of #1 Audi R18, Allan McNish who commented: "It's going to be difficult because what we know here is that it can rain on one side of the circuit and not on the other. You go whzzing through Copse and it feels dry and everyone in the pits thinks it's dry but when you get down to Stowe and Club there are spots of rain. I think that's going to be one of the factors for the race." 

   Fastest in LM P1 was #8 Peugeot of Sarrazin/Montagny with 1:47.755.

   Fastest in LM P2 was #26 Signatech Nissan of Mailleux/Ordonez and Vernay with 1:53.465.

   Fastest in FLM was #95 Pegasus Racing of Schultis/Simon/Schell with 1:59.260.

   Fastest in LM GTE Pro # 51 Ferrari F458 of Fisichella/Bruni with 2:02.647.

   Fastest in LM GTE Am #67 Porsche 911 RSR of Armindo/Narac with 2:06.402.

Next track action is the second free practice from 17:00 to 18:00 local time.
