Photo of the Day - Emanuele Pirro (Audi) wins his fourth victory at Le Mans in 2000

On October 31, 1512, Michelangelo's masterpiece The Sistine Chapel was opened by Pope Julius II, often called the "Warrior Pope," at the Vatican. On June 18, 2000, Rome native Emanuele Pirro won the first of his five victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It took Michelangelo four years to bring to life his stunning frescoes (the Last Judgment was painted 25 years later) in the biggest chapel of the Vatican, which owes its name to Pope Sixtus IV who had it built between 1477 and 1483. It would only take two years for Audi to win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, thanks to Emanuele Pirro, Frank Biela and Tom Kristensen...with a decisive one-two-three.
