Second in the LM P2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2012 Pierre Thiriet can not hide his joy and excitement of being at the start of the 82nd edition. This year, along with Tristan Gommendy and Ludovic Badey, he aims for victory in a category where the list of favourites is long.

This is the fourth participation for you, Pierre. This year, the challenge is on a different scale? "It is a bit special this year as we have entered a car that has never raced. Although we had a lot of running on test day, we did not have a much in the Ligier. Despite this, we are very confident about the machine we have, Onroak Automotive did a great job and we have already seen the pure performance of the car. Now a 24-hour race is a different story. "
Your debut European Le Mans Series debut in 2011 is far behind you. How do you stand today? "When we arrived at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time, it seemed we knew nothing. And then improved gradually. Now I think I can say that I am ready to fight with experienced and fast drivers. Maybe not the "Platinum" or "Gold" but I learned a lot in recent years. "
How was the transition from open to closed P2 ? "I was warned that in terms of vision, it will change a lot. For my part, I have not been disadvantaged more than that. Given my size, I could appreciate the fact that the car was designed around the driver, more than the previous generation, so for me the transition to the closed LM P2 cars is a good thing”.
