Rebellion GPX Esports moves into contention ahead of the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 500 Miles of Sebring, the fourth round of the 2021-22 Le Mans Virtual Series, saw the #1 Oreca 07 of Rebellion GPX Esports come out on top. The competitors will now prepare for the season’s finale, the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans, on 15-16 January 2022.

Agustin Canapino, Nikodem Wisniewski and Kuba Brzezinski of Rebellion GPX Esports clinched victory in the #1 Oreca 07 on the iconic Sebring track in Florida, USA. They were followed home by the #8 Oreca 07 of R8G Esports, with Realteam Hydrogen Redline completing the podium. “It was a great job from everyone on the team and I enjoyed every lap of the race,” said an ecstatic Canapino. “It was a great drive from Niko [Wisniewski] to finish so strongly and now the car is in a really good position to fight for the championship in the final round.”

Rudy van Buren, Kevin Siggy and Enzo Bonito of BMW Team Redline took first place in the LMGTE class following a strategic battle with the #91 Porsche of Porsche Esports Team.

The weekend’s result promises an exciting climax to the season at the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans on 15-16 January 2022. Floyd ByKolles-Burst leads the LMP standings by a mere half a point from 6 Hours of Spa and 8 Hours of Nürburgring winner Team Redline. On the back of its Sebring success, Rebellion GPX Esports is now just four points adrift. With so little between the top teams, the stage is set for an epic three-way showdown at the season’s decider!
