Red flag in Warm-up for the 24 Hours of Le Mans

After the accident of the Oreca Nissan number 25, the warm up of the 90th anniversary 24 hours was cut short by 5 minutes.

The best time of the session was set by Nicolas Lapierre in the Toyota TS030 Hybrid No.7 . The Oreca Nissan No. 26, the Ferrari 458 Italia No. 51 and the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR No. 77 of Patrick Dempsey, Joe Foster and Patrick Long were quickest in the LM P2, LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am classes.

A revised grid has been announced, and several cars will be starting with a grid penalty for failing to do enough laps in practice with one or more of their drivers. The prominent cars that will be affected are the Strakka HPD No.21 that moves back to the 18th row, despite setting the 8th fastest qualifying time, and the Thirlet by TDS Oreca - Nissan No.46 which had a qualifying accident, will now start from the 19th row. Last on the grid will be the rebuilt Krohn Racing Ferrari No.57. The session was red flagged after No.25 Oreca driven by Tor Graves crashed at the Porsche curves.
